1000 Islands
The Thousand Islands are located at the outlet of Lake Ontario into the St. Lawrence River, in the border region between Canada and the USA. The archipelago consists of 1864 islands, with Wolfe Island being by far the largest and Island No. 15 the smallest.
We went by boat around the beautiful islands. Our tour lasted about 1-2 hours, ideal for capturing some impressions on photo. Of course, there are longer tours where you can go even further and see even more, but that's something everyone has to decide for themselves. For us personally, this was enough.
The captain spoke to us during the trip and introduced the individual islands. There are islands that are not inhabited, but also islands where people live. The captain also explained what life is like on such an island. It was very interesting.
It was relatively fresh on the boat, as you stand on deck to get the best view. Therefore, I recommend taking a good jacket, preferably waterproof and windproof.
Gananoque
We only discovered this city by chance, as we only had the islands on the plan. But I am so glad that we took the time to visit this city. Many inhabitants live in pretty houses and they proudly display their national flag in front of the door. A small front garden completes the property. The area is very quit and you feel totally relaxed. When I walked around in this suburb, I thought I could live there too.
